What Rules Should I Know Before Registering for Card Games Tournaments?

Players/Rosters must avoid engaging in conduct or expression that may be considered by the Tournament Administration to be offensive, vulgar, foul, insulting, threatening, abusive, or offensive – this includes anything such as references to drugs (including alcohol and tobacco), sexual material or politically charged symbols/images which might offend.
Players who fail to adhere to these rules or regulations may be given verbal warnings, suspended from play for an unspecified amount of time, or disqualified from the tournament altogether – with any chips belonging to disqualified participants removed from play and possibly even being kicked out from participation altogether.
The head judge serves as the ultimate authority when it comes to card rulings and interpretation of floor rules for an event. Any disagreement regarding any card ruling must be directed toward this judge for resolution; they can assign penalties that range from cautioning the player for minor issues to expulsion from the tournament due to cheating or significant unsportsmanlike behavior.
An infraction of these rules occurs if any hole cards are shown during a pot, even when heads up. Doing so results in a penalty and requires that player to return back to their seat before continuing play.
At no point during a game can any participant touch or hold another participant’s cards or chips; this includes their hand, an opponent’s hand, or any tokens held by another participant.
As with any infraction, acting out of turn or criticizing another player will also result in a penalty and should not recur before the round ends.
Players cannot discuss a hand until all actions have been completed, such as discarding cards or performing board burns.
No player may use markers denoting special conditions during a game, including damage counters or markers that could be considered distracting. Should any questions regarding their use arise before beginning their matchup, players should consult their head judge first.
