An Overview Of The Card Game Named Zap

By Tom Seest

What Is the Card Game Named Zap?

Using cards to guide their strategy, players try to “Finish Space” before the opponent does. They may use Zap cards to switch their team’s score, or they may use Wild Cards to send their score forward. This game is perfect for ages 7 and up and is great for family time or for classroom rewards.
Players start the game by choosing a card from the deck. Each card in the deck is numbered 1-10. Each numbered card is worth a certain number of points. Solid color cards are worth one point, and Wild cards are worth three points.
Each player has a hidden identity and is given cards that modify the rules of the game. For example, players can have a Bionic Eye that makes them easier to reach. They also have a Bionic Leg that makes them less likely to be hit by the opponent’s Zap.
When playing the game, players must sort their cards by color and number. If a player has more than one card in sequence, they must discard each card one at a time.
The player who goes out first during each round receives one point. After the round is finished, the lowest score wins the game.
The game is played with a deck of 100 cards. Players are given a new hand of cards each game. During play, a player may place a card from their hand on the table, but it must be face-down.
